This fun wall hanging is easy to make with just one skein of yarn, different crochet stitches and a piece of (drift)wood. The crochet pattern is inspired by the Small Purple Wall Hanging, but is crochet with a different yarn. You can find the free crochet pattern for the Blue Wall Hanging in this blog post. Ch = Chain
Ch1sp = Chain 1 space
Sc = Single crochet
Sc2tog = Single crochet 2 stitches together
Sc3tog = Single crochet 3 stitches together
Esc = Extended single crochet
St(s) = Stitch(es)
Dc = Double crochet
Tr = Treble crochet
Bst = Bobble stitch: Treble crochet 3 stitches together in 1 stitch
The pattern:
Row 1: Ch24, start in the 2nd ch from your crochet hook, 1sc in each ch, turn. =23sc
Row 2: Ch1, 1esc in each sc, turn. =23esc
Row 3-5: Ch1, 1esc in each esc, turn. =23esc
Row 6: Ch4(=1st tr+1ch), skip 2sts, 1tr in next st, *ch1, skip 1st, 1tr; repeat from * until the end of the row, turn.
Row 7: Ch1, *1esc in tr, 1esc in ch1sp; repeat from * until the end of the row, 1esc in 3rd ch, turn. =23esc
Row 8: Repeat row 3.
Row 9: Ch1, 2sc, *1bst, 2sc; repeat from * until the end of the row, turn. =7bsts
Row 10: Ch1, 1sc in each st, turn. =23sc.
Row 11: Ch2, 1dc in each sc, turn. =23dc
Row 12: Ch3(=1st dc+1ch), skip 1st 2dc, 1dc in next dc, *ch1, skip 1dc, 1dc; repeat from * until the end of the row, turn.
Row 13: Ch2, 1dc in each dc and in each ch1sp, 1dc in the 2nd ch, turn. =23dc
Row 14: Ch4(=1st tr+1ch), skip 1st 2dc, 1tr in next dc, *ch1, skip 1dc, 1tr in next dc; repeat from * until the end of the row, turn.
Row 15: Ch1, 1sc in each dc and in each ch1sp, 1sc in the 3rd ch, turn. =23sc
Row 16: Ch1, sc2tog, 1sc in each sc to last 2sts, sc2tog, turn. =21sc
Row 17-25: Repeat row 16. =3sc
Row 26: Ch1, sc3tog. =1sc
Fasten off.
Finishing:
Weave in all the ends. Make 11 tassels with 2 strands of yarn of 22cm/9in long and attach them to the bottom of the wall hanging. Comb out the strands of yarn for the tassels. Take a new and long piece of yarn and sew the wall hanging to the wood. Take a new and long piece of yarn and attach it to the wood to hang the wall hanging.
