My favorite projects with bobbles
Before we start with the photo tutorial, I want to show you some of my projects with bobbles. I really like using the bobble stitch! Here are some of my favorite projects that have bobbles: the bobbling baby blanket from Crochet Now issue 52, the blue wall hanging and the wall hanging from Aan de Haak 22.
How to crochet the bobble stitch?
Today I will be teaching you a bobble stitch that you can use when your work exists of single or double crochet stitches (US terms). For this tutorial I’m using crochet hook 5.0mm/H and aran weight cotton yarn.
Get ready to make the bobble stitch (photo 1). *Yarn over crochet hook twice (photo 2), insert crochet hook into stitch, yarn over crochet hook (photo 3), pull up a loop (photo 4),
yarn over crochet hook, pull through 2 loops (photo 5), yarn over crochet hook, pull though 2 loops (photo 6); repeat from * 5 times into the same stitch (photo 8),
yarn over crochet hook and pull through all 6 loops on hook (photo 9). Continue pattern (photo 10). After a few stitches you can pop the bobble to the front of your work (photo 11). You can either use your fingers to do this or the end of your crochet hook. You made a bobble stitch!

How to crochet a bobble in a different color?
You can also make the bobble stitch in a different color. Let’s do it!
Finish the last stitch before the bobble stitch with color B (photo 1). While making the bobble stitch in a different color crochet over color A. *Yarn over crochet hook twice, insert crochet hook into stitch, yarn over crochet hook, pull up a loop, yarn over crochet hook, pull through 2 loops, yarn over crochet hook, pull though 2 loops (photo 2); repeat from * 5 times into the same stitch (photo 3), with color A yarn over crochet hook and pull through all 6 loops on hook (photo 4). Continue pattern (photo 5). After a few stitches you can pop the bobble to the front of your work (photo 6). You can either use your fingers to do this or the end of your crochet hook. You made a different color bobble stitch!
